The go-to meals that most home cooks turn to when entertaining or feeding their family are tried and true recipes that appeal to the masses. In my house, they are the recipes I grew up eating with my family and are now cooked in my home on a regular basis. My favorites... spaghetti with a homemade meat sauce, chicken noodle soup with hand-rolled noodles and pot roast with creamy mashed potatoes.
I recently came across an article in bon appetit magazine that says there are 22 recipes everyone should know how to cook and it got me thinking about the food I love to eat and make frequently. There are some things I whip together and I do not even need to reference a recipe while others are a bit out of my comfort zone. Full disclosure, I am not a baker and while I absolutely love nearly everything with sugar in it, I am so uncomfortable in the kitchen when I am trying to tackle a dessert recipe.
So, how many of the following recipes can you make? I am putting an * next to the ones I can cook.
