Birchbox - September

September 30, 2012
Birchbox brought all of their favorite fall trends to me in my September box.  I will admit they were not all winners in my book this month but I am happy to have a couple key takeaways (I guess that is all you can ask, right?).  I am in love with my sample of rich soy body whip lotion from An Apothecary and some natural blotting sheets courtesy of boscia.

(September goods)

The other items I received this month included a twistband™ hair tie for snag-free updo's, a Color Culture chartreuse nail lacquer (holy-cow bright color!), a WEI™ to Go Sleep-Over Skin kit, a Tili travel makeup bag and a coupon to Madewell Clothing Store (super pricey place if you ask me and my budget though).

What did your Birchbox include this month?

Birchbox - August

August 15, 2012
Hooray for August as it has brought me another Birchbox, full of fun new products I cannot wait to get my hands on.  For starters, I was giddy to see Juicy Couture's 'La Fleur' perfume (and I quote, 'fruity top notes combined with heady honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine') and a new Schick razor.  To say that razor blades are over priced is a complete understatement because they are ridiculously expensive so, to save $5 and not have to replace my own for a week or two is enough to celebrate on its own.

This month also brought a WEI mud mask and also, buffing beads which, when added to a daily cleanser becomes an antioxidant-packed exfoliant.  My interest was also perked by Beauty Fixation's cuticle conditioner which looks like little q-tips that you rub on your cuticles daily to soften and condition your nail beds.

I cannot say enough what a delight it is to open my mail box once a month to be surprised by the fun new products I get introduced to.  Hooray to Birchbox, you bring so much happiness to me!

Birchbox: July

July 24, 2012
Birchbox delivered big this month with products and samples from Glamour Magazine.  This month's theme was dedicated to the five senses including a full-size sample of Stila's 'in the moment' eye shadow palette and a new pair of brightly colored ear buds.

I am also very excited about my new Ada bronzer and Alterna Bamboo UV+ Color Protection Fluid to keep my recently highlighted hair strong and shiny.  Finally, I mentioned previously my love of Jouer's tinted bronzer and now I have a sample of their Lip Enhancer.  It might be another product for me to purchase in the near future!  What did you receive in your July Birchbox?  I would love to hear.

Birchbox: June

July 10, 2012
June has come and gone already, yet I just realized I never posted the contents of my June Birchbox.

(the goods from Birchbox)

The month's box was all about jet-setting into the summer months with products to protect you from the heat and are travel in style.  I absolutely love the Jouer Moisturizing Tinted Bronzer (with SPF 20) so much that I bought the full-size version before the sample was gone.  I also received Comodynes Self-Tanning Towlettes, Juicy Couture Perfume, Coola SPF 30 Zinc sunscreen, a hair tie from ModCloth and finally a lip and cheek stain from theBalm that I really liked too.  Hooray to June... I only wish I was setting off for a tropical vacation to use all these product at.

Birchbox

May 18, 2012
I mentioned it a few weeks ago here that I recently found out about Birchbox, an online beauty supply company that sends you 4-5 brand-name items for you to try each month.  Well, HOORAY FOR ME because I got my first box this week and they did not disappoint.  Between the beautiful packaging, the tie-in with CW’s Gossip Girl and then of course the 6 items (bonus gifts already!) I received, I felt my $10 was very well spent.

(Clockwise from top left: straight out of the mail / the card inside describing all the fabulous products / Gossip Girl packaging / fun stuff I cannot wait to test out)

My box included shampoo, conditioner and straightening serum from Kerastase, a full-size Stila liquid eyeliner, an SPF25 sunscreen/face lotion from Dr. Jart, a Color Club nail lacquer and a cute thank you card to send to a friend.  I was so impressed that I decided to also order my husband the Birchbox Male subscription.  At $20/month it is a bit more expensive but includes accessories (socks, undershirts, collar stays, etc.) and gift certificates to popular stores across the country.
Seriously, what a great surprise to look forward to each month and such an innovative way to try out new products.  Alright, I will get off my soap-box now.  Happy Friday to all!
