Vacation Wrap Up // Indian Wells Tennis

March 22, 2013
The main reason behind our trip to palm springs was to attend the bnp paribas indian wells tennis tournament.  We bought two days worth of tickets and got to see the 3rd round and also the quarter-final matches.

As a big tennis fan, it was great to get to see the biggest names of the sport playing live.  Ryan and I went to the us open tennis tourney in nyc back in 2009 and this was very similar.  Lots of people, crazy hot temperatures (I am talking 98 degrees), great tennis and just tons of fun.

(seriously the coolest feature of my new camera:  the panoramic shot)

We got to see novak djokovic, rafel nadal, andy murry, jo-wilfried tsonga, rodger federer, maria sharapova, the brian brothers and mardy fish all play which was amazing.  To escape the heat we held up in the shady corona bar... not a bad place to be.

Oh, and on another note, are you sick of seeing this hat yet?!?!  I now realize that I wore this hat about 80% of the trip to keep the sun off my face.  Sadly you will get to see a lot more of it in my post tomorrow.

I was having some fun downloading fonts from this great site and thought I would put together a little collage on my upcoming trip.  We are flying into scottsdale to enjoy some time at the pool and also a spring training baseball game.  Then we are driving a couple hours to palm springs (I have never been before and I am very excited) to attend the indian wells tennis tournament and then even more time at the pool.  Check out our hotel... it looks beautiful.  I cannot wait to get a tan, take in a little sporting action, eat some delicious food and enjoy a much needed vacation.

Do you know where this is?  Here are some hints...

- It is in the desert
- The temperatures linger in the 70s - 80s
- There are over 300 golf courses within the area
- One of the biggest tennis tourneys takes place here
- Cochella is not far, nor is big bear or joshua tree

Oh and the best part... I will be there in just a few days.  Still haven't guessed this amazing location???  Well, it would be fabulous Palm Springs!  I cannot wait to share more with you in the coming days.

Weekend Update

January 28, 2013
If you were basing my weekend update upon the photos below you would think that all I did was drink cocktails and eat my way through Saturday and Sunday but that is not the case.  I just did a poor job of capturing the hours spent lounging on my couch in some form of pj's, helping my parents move into their very beautiful new home or hosting a brunch while watching novak jokovic win the australian open tennis tourney.

You can be the judge... however, I did have a cocktail or two!

Breakfast at Wimbledon

July 8, 2012
Sunday morning in England, Roger Federer and Andy Murray hit the courts for the finals of the Wimbledon Championship match.  What better way to watch than at a 'Breakfast at Wimbledon' party that our friend Brian hosted on his back patio.  Just as the players traditionally wear all white, we rolled into the party in our best all white ensembles to enjoy mimosas, bloody marys, pastries and bagels with our friends Brian, Ashley, John, Nicki, Chip and Chris.

(Clockwise from top left:  Ryan came to play  /  backyard fun  /  Ashley and I  /  Brian and Ryan  /  breakfast  /  Ryan and I  /  champagne a plenty)

Federer took some time to get his rhythm and confidence but as soon as he did (and the rain began to fall), Murray stood no chance.  Our beloved Federer won the match and is finally back in the #1 seed after two years of losing to Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Seriously, a great Sunday morning!
