Vacation Update // Newport Beach

March 25, 2013
Who knew that taking off from newport beach, ca would be nearly $300 less a ticket than flying out of palm springs?  Well, it was which gave us an excuse to drive north west and get a little beach time before our trip home.

On our way to newport, we got to see the thousands of wind turbines scattered across the san jacinto mountains.  I personally was in awe of the windmills; they looked like moving art, peacefully spinning in the breeze for all to see.

We only had a couple hours in newport before our flight, so, we decided to have lunch and then go to the beach.  Our friend phil suggested for us to try out bear flag fish co and I am so glad we did.  The fish tacos were amazingly fresh (white flaky fish with a light panko-crust) and the tuna poke was also one of the best I have ever had.

Sadly, every time I have visited any west coast beach it is overcast and this trip was no different.  Temps were in the low 60s and the sun was hidden above the clouds.  However, the sea air was great to smell, the cool sand between my toes felt great and walking on the beach with ryan was the perfect quiet moment after a event-filled week.  This trip was filled with so many highs I really cannot name just one; I just loved it all and had fun reliving so much of it through my last few posts.

  1. That would've been embarrassing if you said that this all took place in "Hunnington Beach, CA"! I'm really glad you didn't make a silly mistake like that...
