Weekend Update

June 29, 2015
I am blessed to have both my family and ryan's family living in the denver-metro area. We typically do not have a weekend that goes by without spending time with at least one side of our families too. This past weekend was the best of both worlds; a little mix of both our families... making memories that will last a lifetime.

My sweet little niece kamryn celebrated her 5th birthday with a bbq on friday night. We sat outside in the warm summer air telling stories, laughing and watching the kids play on the trampoline. Kamryn was so proud that it was her birthday and she was the cutest to watch as we all sang 'happy birthday' in her honor.

Sunday my parents, ryan and I had a belated father's day celebration which included a trip to the farmers market and then brunch at jax fish house. We wandered through the endless booths, talked with the purveyors and sampled our way up and down pearl street in the mid-morning sun. Followed by bloody marys (I had strawberry lemonade, for the record) and brunch, it was the perfect way to celebrate the extremely good men in my life.

Hope you had a great weekend too... maybe you spent it with your family too!

Weekend Update

June 1, 2015
Wow... a weekend full of sunshine and weather over 60 degrees; I almost did not know what to do when denver was blessed with multiple consecutive hours of sunshine. Don't you fret, just like riding a bike, it all came back to me and my weekend was full of activity and soaking in the vitamin d.

The weekend kicked off with pizza at proto's followed by drinks at fermaentra with our close friend brian. Saturday morning ryan and I started tackling some landscaping projects that we have been planning on since we bought our house last november; we (and I really should say ryan beccause I was pretty close to helpless) planted 10 new shrubs/trees in our yard. I cannot wait to see our hard work grow and bloom in the coming months and years.

Sunday was my favorite day of the weekend... ryan and I hit up the pearl street farmers market to gorg on street food and to pick up some awesome produce and artisan products. I snuck in a pedicure and then spent the rest of the day relaxing at home.

I could not be happier to have the sunshine on my side to get some projects completed and to feel like may ended with warmth and clear skies.

This Weekend You Could...

May 15, 2015

my favorite coffee shop in denver, steam espresso bar is celebrating their 2nd anniversary on saturday; complete with live flamenco music, trompeau pastries  and tons of fun on their gorgeous patio. you know where I will be.

spring has sprung and the bounty of the season is finally going to be available at farmer’s markets around town. south pearl street and cherry creek’s markets open this weekend and will be buzzing with produce, vendors, food trucks and artisans.

the 11th annual five points jazz festival is being held on saturday; over 35 bands will be playing across 4 stages with dozens of vendors and food trucks to fuel the thousands expected in attendance.

plan a date night or a girls night out and hit up one of denver’s many art + drinking events. canvas and cocktails, pinot’s palette and sipping + painting offer evening and mimosa morning classes with a huge selection of painting options at super affordable prices.

This Weekend You Could...

September 19, 2014

hit up one of denver’s farmers markets to pick up the last of summer's produce + the beginning of fall's harvest

jam out at a live concert, elton john, grace potter + the nocturnals and riot fest are all playing this weekend

grab your  lederhosen and sip on steins of delicious german beer at the 45th annual denver oktoberfest

dine in the newly launched, patio 16, an outdoor dining space on the 16th street mall; food vendors are on-site 11-a7p

This weekend is going to be a low-key one for me... or at least that is what I am hoping. Right now I do not have much more planned than a coffee + mani date with my dear friend mary as a late birthday celebration. I will see you back here on monday with my weekend recap... have a beautiful couple of days!

Farmer's Market Fun

July 2, 2012
I finally made it to my first Farmer's Market of the summer and it was a great kick off to what I hope will be many more visits in the months ahead.  Ryan, Rocco and I made our way through dozens of vendors with fresh produce, homemade cheeses, doggie treats, housewares, fresh coffee and food vendors.

(Clockwise from top left:  heirlooms  /  dumplings  /  pastries and breads  /  fava beans and spring peas  /  flowers  / Rocco and Ryan)

I brought home some beautiful heirloom tomatoes, sampled my way through breakfast tacos, pork dumplings, a peach pastry and some fresh cherries.  Oh how I cannot wait to make either a caprese salad or maybe BLTs with my tomatoes tonight for dinner!
