who knew that the olive garden had a food truck? or that they would be coming to denver but sure enough, all weekend long, olive garden will be offering up samples of their signature bread-stick sandwiches. come out to taste the changes coming to olive garden’s menus.

get our for a night of comedy; catch bill maher in all his comedic glory as he stops into denver on his national tour.

take in the flavor and culture of asia at the annual dragon boat festival. 2 days of dragon boat racing, samplings of authentic dishes, a huge marketplace of goods and more than 120 performances will take place, all without an admission fee.

shop your way through the endless high-end boutiques and shops in cherry creek north for their annual sidewalk sale. there is no doubt you will find a one-of-a-kind item at an affordable price while also soaking in the summer sun.

saunter through the dozens booths of vintage goods, handmade items and curated pieces at the horseshoe market in lower-highlands.

larimer square’s secret garden, le jardin is held every saturday this summer; visit this european hidden farmer’s market in the courtyard of bistro vendome’s courtyard to find heirloom tomatoes, fragrant cheeses, hand-cut meats and gourmet ingredients.

head to steamboat springs for their annual hot air balloon rodeo. dozens of gorgeous balloons will be taking flight at dawn and dusk. this was one of my favorite events to attend growing up and where I took my first hot air balloon ride.

spend an evening laughing till you cry at the underground stand up comedy showcase. local and out-of-state comedians will be flooding the city to bring laughter at the soiled dove underground.

denver’s taco festival is taking over the rino district with dozens of taco tastings, 40+ tequila samples, live music and even lucha libra wrestling. eat your way through some of the city’s best tacos and pick your favorite.

grab the family and head out to belmar for their summer music on the plaza series. live music takes place every friday which can be heard from the many restaurant patios in the area or by pulling up a seat in the plaza.

support the revitalization of the south platte river through the 3rd annual coors light south platte river fest; stand-up paddle board lessons, demos, water activities, fitness classes, live music and food vendors will be available to all.

enjoy a scoop of denver’s best ice cream while listening to the twangy tunes of live bluegrass. little man ice cream will be serving up scoops all night with beautiful bluegrass playing all night long.

grab a blanket + the picnic basket and head out to the historic elitch gardens theatre for the debut night of their summer outdoor theatre series. the iconic movie grease will be on the big screen with coach calhoun and principal mcgee in attendance to add to the fun.

the sun is out and city park is wanting to celebrate. head to denver’s largest park for an ice cream social tonight; free ice cream, face painting, entertainers and a concert will all take place at the city park pavilion with partnership from boulder ice cream and the denver zoo.

denver’s 7th annual yoga rocks the park kicks off this sunday with a free yoga class at sunken gardens park, presented by kindness yoga. come get your shavasna on with a couple hundred yogi lovers.

my favorite coffee shop in denver, steam espresso bar is celebrating their 2nd anniversary on saturday; complete with live flamenco music, trompeau pastries  and tons of fun on their gorgeous patio. you know where I will be.

spring has sprung and the bounty of the season is finally going to be available at farmer’s markets around town. south pearl street and cherry creek’s markets open this weekend and will be buzzing with produce, vendors, food trucks and artisans.

the 11th annual five points jazz festival is being held on saturday; over 35 bands will be playing across 4 stages with dozens of vendors and food trucks to fuel the thousands expected in attendance.

plan a date night or a girls night out and hit up one of denver’s many art + drinking events. canvas and cocktails, pinot’s palette and sipping + painting offer evening and mimosa morning classes with a huge selection of painting options at super affordable prices.

mother’s day celebrations will sadly not include much outdoor activities due to the weather but there are dozens of restaurants planning decadent brunches, cocktails and meals for the special women in your life.

denver botanic gardens is hosting their annual spring plant sale; pick up all the herbs, veggies, annuals, bulbs and more this weekend… just keep them in a warmer location and plant next week when the weather clears up.

s three-course pop-up meal is happening tonight; growhaus is hosting an evening featuring food from some of denver’s best restaurants paired with local libations, all for a good cause. find a date and get ready to have a tasty and fulfilling evening.

when the weather is less than stellar I love to go see a movie at the theatre. there are tons of movies out in theatres right now and nearly a dozen that debut this weekend.

grab your jacket and a tasty beverage to keep you warm and head out to first friday. the denver art district on santa fe is buzzing with people checking out the boutiques, galleries and shops. yoiu might just find a custome piece you have to have for your home.

dust off your kids' easter baskets and head out across the mento-denver; there are nearly 20 scavenger hunts and easter bunny photo-ops across town and the majority of them are free of charge.

spring produce is popping up and our local farmers markets are finally opening back up for a season of fresh produce, local vendors and food trucks aplenty. boulder and logmont market’s are kicking off their season’s this weekend.




My weekend plans are all about family. Ryan + I have a few different engagments this weekend that are sure to be filled with lots of eating, egg hunting and celebrating with those we love most. if you are planning on staying home for the weekend; stop by western daughters on your way home after work and pick up a delicious roast or some meat to braise for hours until tender on the stove. Your savory meal at home will have you wishing it snowed every weekend.

eat a multi-course dinner at a denver restaurants for a cool $30/person through denver restaurant week. Reservations do fill up quickly but with so many places participating, you can try a new-to-you restaurant for a very low price.

pop the bubbly and prepare some fancy finger foods; the 87th annual academy awards will air on sunday evening. Make your predictions on who will win and make turn your sunday night on the couch into a fete to remember.

make your way to the source and taste samplings from mondo market, sip artisan beers from crooked starve brewery and have lunch at either comida or acorn. An afternoon at the source will tempt all of your senses.

get out of the house for a couple of hours to see a blockbuster or oscar-nominated film. A little snow should not stop you from hitting up the neighborhood multiplex. 




The weekend's forecast in denver is calling for nearly a foot of snow and freezing temperatures. Most people will be hunkering down, turning on the crockpot and planning to binge-watch netflix. However, if you get a bit stir-crazy, might I suggest (carefully) getting out of the house for a little fun?

no matter if you are cheering on the patriots or seahawks, just watching the commercials or in-it for the great game-day food, there is a little something for everyone to rally behind come sunday for the 49th super bowl.

be immersed in the beauty and awe of the international snow sculpture championships in breckenridge. Each sculpture is an intricate carving done by some of the best ice sculptures in the world.

the oscars are only a few weeks away and there are so many films to see. Sie film center is playing all of the oscar nominated documentary shorts, back-to-back. Grab some popcorn and check these films off of your must-see list.

make your winter a little warmer by purchasing a denver passport that is valid for the next 6 weeks. You can then start drinking your way through the coziest of bars and restaruants which will offer special drink prices at every location. 



This weekend I would assume most people will be tuning-in (at least for a portion) to the  super bowl. I too will be but that is not the highlight of my weekend. That instead is reserved for my dad's birthday brunch which will take place on saturday. I cannot wait to celebrate my amazing father with a delicious meal in his honor.
