Weekend Update

December 16, 2013
Oh the holidays make for such busy (but fun) weekends! There was not much downtime for me this weekend between a nuggets game on friday night, entertaining family on saturday and then christmas shopping on sunday. Yes, I just started my shopping yesterday and its the first time e.v.e.r. that I am so late to join the hundreds of last-minute-shoppers at the mall. Luckily, the lines were really short and the stores were well stocked so I was able to get through about half my list in just a few hours.

Ryan put up christmas lights on our house saturday afternoon and I cannot wait to go snap some pictures of his good work. I love pulling up to our house and seeing it shinning bright. We had ryan's family over for dinner on saturday too (I made this) and it was so nice to have everyone over to enjoy all our festive decor.

This week is a busy one so I will do my best to stay on top of my posts for you guys to keep coming back to this little corner of the internet. Have a great week-before-christmas!

Weekend Update

November 4, 2013
I blinked my eyes and my weekend was over... even with the additional hour of sleep from daylight savings. Crazy how some weekends feel like they are in slow motion and others feel like a nano-second of time.

Friday night was the home opener for the denver nuggets and while they lost the game, ryan and I had fun. We got rally towels, had a couple cocktails and took in the beauty of the nuggets new enormous scoreboard

On saturday morning, rocco got a hair cut and then we met my family at rootdown. After a filling breakfast, we headed home for some fall yard work. I have to give ryan some serious credit for the hours he spent bagging leaves, irrigating the yard and getting things winter-ready. Saturday night we spent making the most delicious steak and pasta dinner; seriously, it was one of those meals that you linger over not wanting to end.

On sunday my brother-in-law came over to watch football and I made some game-time snacks, ran errands and took rocco out for a walk because the weather was in the 60s. I am trying to take advantage of any warm weather possible before the snow hinders our outdoor fun (I guess they are predicting snow for tonight! ugh.). So that is a glimpse at my weekend. I hope you made the most of yours as well.

Weekend Update

It is crazy that just last week I was writing about the dreadful spring snow and then what happens... we have a weekend with so much warmth and sunshine.  I took full advantage by doing some outdoor spring cleaning and then pulling out the cushions for our patio furniture to have lunch in the sun with my family.  We made this delicious arugula and fennel salad from love and lemons.

Ryan and I took rocco on a walk around the beautiful park by our house, did a little shopping (I cannot wait to show you what ryan splurged and got me from here!), and squeezed in time with some of our closest friends too.  Sadly I cannot report a huge win for my denver nuggets who are now 1-3 in the series.  They will really need to step it up tomorrow for game 5 or our playoff appearance will be a dismal one, falling out in round 1.  Go Nuggets!

Weekend Update

April 8, 2013
Warm weather.  Early morning walks with rocco and ryan around the park with fresh coffee in hand.  Chocolate chip cookies.  Discovering a new neighborhood bar that has a full-size boat inside.  Some spring yard work to get my home ready for warmer weather.  Killer courtside seats to watch the nuggets beat the rockets.  Quality time with family.

My weekend was really nice and I am so fortunate for all of it.  I hope your's was too.  Sadly the great weather will not be lasting long in denver; forecast is calling for 14 inches of snow tomorrow... yuck!  I just want spring to be present for more than just a weekend.
